David Brown took over Aston Martin after the war after having acquired Lagonda. The great racing days followed culminating in outright victory at Le Mans. In 1972 the company was taken over by Company Developments Ltd. and the DB designation could no longer be used. Over the next few years the Lagonda name was briefly revived and high power models introduced.
