Bury Corporation Transport
Bury Corporation Transport
Bury Corporation Transport boasted a fleet of more than ninety buses – mainly produced by Daimler and Leyland. In many ways the company was a trailblazing operator; it was one of the first operators of diesel-powered buses, the only Lancashire municipal operator of three-axle double-deckers and the first operator of new Leyland buses after the Second World War. The livery was red and cream until 1942, when it changed to green and primrose.
In 1969, it was absorbed into SELNEC, which later became Greater Manchester Transport.
Packed with rare and previously unpublished images, this is a wonderful tribute to a much-loved operator.
