Citroen DS - 50 ans de passion (F)

The most technically interesting car of the 20th century is celebrating its 50th anniversary, and yes, the Citroën DS is already half a century old. To say it doesn't is stating the obvious: how can a car so technologically advanced, designed with such purity, ever age? Certainly, it bears the marks of its era (the shape of its accessories, the touches of chrome...), but it doesn't go out of style. Take a car from the 1950s and put it in modern traffic: the contrast is striking and immediate. A DS is barely noticeable. Its oblong shape is even less jarring than it was 50 years ago! Dictated by genius, conceived by a handful of mad scientists, and put into production by a daring industrialist, the DS has left its mark on the world. This legendary car therefore richly deserved a tribute to celebrate this very special anniversary. This album offers a unique perspective, a photographic collection showcasing the various versions of the DS, official and unofficial, handcrafted, utilitarian, and prestigious. Under the lens of automotive photographer Daniel Denis, the Citroën, like a fashion model, reveals its every charm.
