Classic Motoring from "Punch"
Classic Motoring from "Punch"
The 1920s and 1930s heralded a golden age of motoring, with the new technology progressing in leaps and bounds - sometimes with amusing results. The more humorous aspects were not missed by the commentators of the day, and the magazine "Punch" (150 years old in 1991) yielded a rich seam of articles and cartoons. Many of these are reproduced here, and in true "Punch" form they take a wry look at the lighter side of all forms of early motoring. The classic advertisements of the era caught the imagination of millions, and 64 of them are included in the book, featuring such notable names as Rolls-Royce, Bentley and the early Fords.
