John Montagu of Beaulieu, 1866-1929: Motoring Pioneer and Prophet

The life of John Montagu, second Baron of Beaulieu who, as an MP, fought the epic and bitter campaign to abolish the 12mph speed limit. In return, the 1903 Motor Car Act obliged motorists to register and number their cars and obtain licences to drive them.
