North Wales Rail Scene

The North Wales railway scene has seen many changes over the years. Both freight and passenger services have been discontinued and are gone now. Apart from a few exceptions, so are many of the traditional semaphore signals associated with the route.

While the picturesque qualities of the landscape endure, major engineering works have transformed many areas. Covering two decades between the late 1970s and the late 1990s, the photographs featured in this book offer a nostalgic look back to an era when locomotive haulage and first-generation DMUs were the order of the day, eventually giving way to the next generation of motive power.
