Here is the story -- fascinating, funny, and sometimes controversial -- of Stuart Turner, one of the leading behind-the-scenes motorsport figures of the past 40 years. Coming from a working class background, Turner enjoyed an exotic career that included stints as BMC competitions manager during the glory years of Austin Healey and Mini Cooper, as well as head of Ford's Advanced Vehicle Operations Factory and director of motorsports for Ford of Europe. In addition, Turner was at various times a driver for Triumph, BMC and Mercedes, with whom he drove in the last Mille Miglia.
